Mia (aka Yamo)

Mia, a beautiful 7-year-old girl, arrived in Canada from Thailand after bravely overcoming a serious car accident that left her with broken back legs. She underwent five surgeries and learned to walk again, a testament to her resilience! Mia is now healthy, spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. While she is completely cared for, there's a possibility she may develop arthritis in her hind end as she ages. Mia is a loving, shy, and independent soul who adores her toys and is fiercely loyal to her family. She knows commands like "sit," "paw," and "down," and has excellent recall in the backyard.

Ideal Home

Mia would thrive in a quiet home with a couple or a single person, and absolutely no small children. A fenced yard would be wonderful for her to safely explore and watch for squirrels, as she does have a high prey drive.

Ongoing Health

Mia is currently healthy and well-cared for. Owners should be aware of the potential for future arthritis in her hind end due to past injuries. She is also about 9 lbs over her ideal weight.

Training & Support

Mia is housetrained and leash-trained. She does not need to be crated and has shown no destruction when left alone. Mia can be protective of her family and shows better at the vet if her owners do not accompany her into the exam room. It's important to note that Mia has previously shown aggression towards another dog in the home and has growled at a new grandchild. Therefore, she would do best as the only pet and in a home without young children.
