Buddy Edward

Buddy Edward is a middle-aged dude with a bit of a belly, but we're working on it! This happy, roly-poly Shih Tzu snorts like a bulldog and has a charming waddle. He came to us at 18 lbs. Our vet says his bloodwork looks great, but his weight is a concern and obesity can lead to health problems down the road. His foster is managing his diet with special kibble and one meal a day. Buddy has beautiful curly white and tan fur. He had some bald spots from skin infections, but they've grown back wonderfully! As with many breeds, he'll need regular professional grooming to keep his coat looking its best.

Ideal Home

Buddy would thrive in a home that can commit to managing his weight through diet and exercise. He has lived with cats, small dogs, and big dogs, and loves to snuggle on laps.

Ongoing Health

Buddy is currently on a weight management plan, which includes a special diet and controlled feeding.

Training & Support

Buddy is already leash-trained and potty-trained! He absolutely loves car rides and is ready to go anywhere with his new family.

Transporation

Buddy is currently being fostered in Texas. Transport is available to the PNW (WA, UT, ID), Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN), or select New England States (NY, NJ, CT, VA, VT) through our pet transport partners. Due to his size, Buddy is also eligible to travel with Southwest Airlines from Houston to any major airport approved by SWAAT. Canadian adopters will need to meet us in the USA for pickup.
