Meet Angus!
This 2-year-old, 115lb gentle giant is the epitome of big dog energy... which is to say, not much! Angus loves to sleep, drool (by the bucketful!), eat, and then go back to sleep. He has a refined palate and is hilariously picky about treats, only enjoying freeze-dried lamb or beef heart nuggets and pig ears. He's not a fan of "peasant food" like chicken jerky or milk bones! While he has an intimidating bark, he seems to have missed the agility and stamina genes, often looking surprised or vaguely worried, and doesn't appreciate loud noises or sudden movements. He walks nicely on leash, knows "sit," and takes treats gently. We think he would be fine with older children and possibly cats with a slow introduction. Angus has shown interest in playing with other dogs here at the shelter, so he might enjoy a canine housemate. If you've always wanted a king-sized dog and don't mind sharing your bed, Angus could be the perfect companion for you!
Ideal Home
An adopter with prior experience with similar breeds would be ideal for Angus. He would likely do well with older children and potentially cats with a slow introduction. We do require meet-and-greets for any dogs or minor children living in the home.
Ongoing Health
Angus is up-to-date on all his vaccinations and has been spayed/neutered. He's also microchipped.
