About Artie

Artie is a delightful 3-year-old Terrier mix, weighing around 32 pounds. This spirited girl is the epitome of fun-loving and high-energy, always eager for her next adventure! Whether it's a vigorous game of fetch, a zoomie session around the house with her favorite toys, or exploring the great outdoors, Artie approaches everything with infectious enthusiasm and joy. She's a smart, playful, and deeply affectionate companion who adores people and greets new friends with pure excitement and a wagging tail.

Ideal Home

Artie thrives in an active environment and would do best with a family that enjoys walks, playtime, and outdoor activities. While she has done well with large dogs (50-100 lbs) in her foster home with slow introductions, she can be a little on edge initially and protective of her toys, though she quickly backs off and has never escalated. She’s also learning to recognize when another dog is done playing. On leash, she may bark or pull when she sees other dogs, so continued training will help her polish those manners. Artie has not been around cats and hasn't spent time with children yet, but her friendly and affectionate personality suggests she could do well with proper introductions. Her ideal home would be active, patient, and ready to continue her training, especially helping her learn to settle calmly and share toys more comfortably. A yard or open space to run would be a huge bonus, and while she doesn't need another dog, she would likely enjoy a playful canine companion.

Ongoing Health

Artie is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Artie is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping in her crate at night and during the day for about 4-6 hours. She may whine a bit initially but settles down. She should continue to be crated when left alone, as she is curious and can get into things on counters if unsupervised. She rides well in the car, handles stairs with no problem, and loves chewing on toys and cuddling up after a good play session. She eats separately from other pets currently, though she has shown no food guarding toward people and typically backs off if another dog has something she wants. Continued training will help her polish her leash manners and learn to settle calmly and share toys more comfortably.
