Finnegan is a 7-year-old, 30lb bundle of personality, emotion, fluff, and resilience. He's a sensitive soul seeking his safe place, his sanctuary, his happily ever after. At 7 years old, he’s been through more than most dogs ever should, and we’re urgently searching for a foster or forever home for him. Every time Finnegan has been in a kennel environment, he mentally shuts down. His anxiety escalates quickly, he begins to self harm, and we fear deeply for his wellbeing. Despite his rough journey, Finnegan has made tremendous progress through medication, training, and the love of his foster. He still has some behavioral challenges and off days, just like we all do, but he has lots of great days too. Finn loves to sing, adores being outside, and food is absolutely the way to his heart. He's made lots of dog friends and even a few cat friends, although he's not a fan of the sassy ones. He's learned that strangers aren't so scary and has done well with both women and men. He is on lifelong medications and will need someone who understands that healing takes time and compassion. But he is so worth it.
Ideal Home
Finnegan would thrive in a low-traffic environment with no children. He needs a patient household with experienced dog owners who are committed to ongoing training and care. Lots of tasty treats and tons of love will help him settle in.

Finnegan is on lifelong medications and will require a commitment to his ongoing health needs.
Training & Support
Finnegan has made tremendous progress but still has some behavioral challenges. He loves food, which is a great motivator! To support his transition into a new home, our trainer will provide a free session once he’s in his new home.
