Smokey

Meet Smokey! This handsome 2-year-old Cane Corso / Weimaraner mix came to us as a stray and is now ready to find his forever family. He's a medium-energy boy, weighing in at 53 pounds, who enjoys both playtime with his canine friends and cuddling up on the couch. Smokey is a smart and quick learner, described as kind-hearted, affectionate, and exceptionally sweet. He’s a total couch potato who’s more than happy to hang out and relax with you all day!

Ideal Home

Smokey would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and prefers a household without cats. Due to his shyness with new people, a lower-traffic home would be ideal. He would also love a doggie companion, as he enjoys playing with other dogs and is very submissive during play. Smokey would be best suited for someone with a house, not an apartment, and would ideally love a home where someone works from home or is only away for a few hours a day.

Smokey is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.

Training & Support

Smokey is fully potty trained. He walks great on a leash, though he can be a little nervous around strangers and may bark out of excitement, but he is easily redirected. He does get excited in the beginning and will pull slightly, but he settles in and walks calmly. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in. He does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he does stop crying and doesn't tear anything up. He does well if left to free roam.
