Alder

Alder is a handsome 3-year-old Pyr who came to us from Texas, where the stray dog population is overwhelming. Thankfully, he is one of the lucky ones who made it out and is on his way to finding a loving, forever home.

Alder is a shy but friendly gentleman. He wants to show his excitement, but he's not 100% sure how to. He likely wasn't given much affection or attention, but he definitely craves it. We suspect he'll master the Pyr paw in no time.

Ideal Home

Alder would thrive in a home with a calmer, playful dog, as he seems interested but unsure of how to play with other dogs. He's also a bit protective of his food, so he'll need to be fed separately from other dogs. He doesn't seem to mind cats. A home with kids beyond the screeching years would likely be fine. While a fenced yard would be ideal, it's not a dealbreaker as long as you're committed to daily walks. He is not a dog that can be left to wander in a backyard unsupervised, as he likely will not stay close to home.
