About Lola : The Tragic Story of a Mama Dog

At just 2 years old, this sweet lab mix girl, Lola, has already overcome so much, yet she remains one of the most gentle and loving dogs you could ever meet. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Houston alongside her newborn puppies. Even while caring for her babies, she showed nothing but trust and kindness toward everyone around her. Sadly, her puppies were quickly taken from her, and Lola found herself at risk of euthanasia. However, her calm, loving nature and incredibly easygoing personality quickly made her a staff favorite, and she found help to leave the shelter.

Lola's foster family described her as "the best dog in the universe," and it's easy to see why. She is quiet, well-mannered, affectionate, and wonderfully easy to handle. Lola settles beautifully into home life and simply enjoys being near her people. She currently lives happily with another dog and young toddler children, doing wonderfully with both. While she was previously able to free-roam with toddlers and a medium-sized dog, Lola has shown that she does not do well with very tiny animals. She has been in boarding for the last two months, where the staff adore her and find her to be an extremely smart and obedient pup who is waiting for her special person. Lola weighs around 45 pounds, making her the perfect medium-sized companion. Her calm and gentle presence would fit beautifully into almost any home, whether you are looking for a family dog, a loyal companion, or an easygoing best friend.
