Elmo is a delightful 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold. He came to us after a difficult experience where he was shot in the hip, and a bullet became lodged near his spine. Thankfully, this bullet has since become encapsulated and specialists have determined that removal would be too risky. The wonderful news is that this does not affect his quality of life! Elmo is healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long and happy life.
Ideal Home
Elmo would do best in a home where he can relax and enjoy his days. While he's not suited for extreme sports or strenuous activities like leaping or scaling tall peaks, he is a joyful dog who loves his walks and spending time with his people and canine friends. He's good with other dogs and loves people, and has a special appreciation for a comfortable dog bed to lounge in. He showed mild interest in cats, so dog-savvy cats might be okay. Due to his medical history, we recommend him for homes with children over 10 or sturdy children who understand he's not a pony and needs to be handled gently. Elmo will thrive in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion.
