Archie is a charming and intelligent 2-year-old, 40-pound black lab mix looking for his forever home! He's a smart cookie who's already house and kennel trained, even knowing commands like "sit" and "stay." He's happy to go to his kennel whenever you leave or for bedtime. Archie enjoys leisurely walks and is a pro on the leash. He's playful and mild-mannered, loving games of fetch and tug-of-war with his favorite toys. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has a soft spot for his 10-year-old human companion. Archie is eager to please and has a big heart, though he can be a little shy when meeting new people. He may bark and hide initially but warms up once he feels safe, and with positive introductions, we believe he can overcome this shyness. He's got a curious spirit and might playfully "borrow" items like pens or socks, but he's not a destructive chewer on furniture.

Ideal Home

Archie would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can safely explore and exercise. He would likely benefit from having a canine sibling or regular playdates with dog friends to satisfy his energetic nature.

Archie has tested positive for heartworms, and treatment is being planned.

Training & Support

While Archie is well-behaved, he can be a bit of a collector of household items like pens and socks. Gentle redirection and positive reinforcement will help him understand what's his and what's not. His initial hesitation with new people can be overcome with patience and one positive interaction at a time.
