Baloo is an approximately 5-year-old, 33 lb Bull Terrier mix with a sweet, gentle, and loving soul. He spent many years waiting in a shelter and is now hopeful for his forever family. Baloo is affectionate and enjoys human companionship. While he may be a bit nervous initially, he quickly warms up and seeks pets, attention, and cuddles. He gets along well with other dogs, children, men, and women and is not aggressive, even when other dogs bother him. Baloo is respectful at mealtimes and eats outside of a crate, never rushing another dog's food.
Ideal Home
A home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Baloo does not like being confined in a crate and becomes distressed, so a home where he doesn't need to be crated would be ideal. He is also terrified of fireworks and may chew on toys or sticks to relieve stress or boredom.
Ongoing Health
Baloo has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, a Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and is microchipped. He also tested negative for heartworm and is on monthly preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccine booklet are provided.
Training & Support
Baloo is potty trained for the yard and can hold it when indoors. He does not yet know how to walk on a leash and gets nervous during car rides, requiring transport in a carrier. With patience, time, and gentle training, he has great potential to improve in both areas as he is smart and eager to please. He can be vocal when hungry.
