Lane Boots the Snuggly Couch Dog

Lane Boots is ready to fill your life with snuggles and love! This sweet girl is an expert at couch cuddles and will happily spend all day with you, soaking up belly rubs and ear scratches. Lane is the epitome of a loyal best friend – always excited to see you and ready to shower you with affection. You'll feel like you've known her forever the moment you meet her, and you'll be eager to make her a permanent part of your family.

Lane is a petite pup, weighing in around 50 pounds, and she's estimated to be about 2 years old. She's attentive, walks nicely on leash, and has excellent house manners, proving she's been studying hard to be your perfect companion! While we believe she's an American Pit Bull Terrier and Labrador mix, she's a rescue, so these are educated guesses. One thing is for sure – she is 100% a good girl!

The first thing you'll notice about Lane is her striking heterochromatic eyes, one blue and one brown. The second thing you'll notice is how quickly she'll find her way into your lap for some affectionate pets. She's incredibly warm and friendly with everyone she meets, a true lovebug! Lane would be a wonderful addition to any socially active household, big family, or group of friends – the more, the merrier! She absolutely adores children, and a recent playdate with a 5-year-old involved an hour of couch snuggles, big hugs, and sharing treats, all of which Lane thoroughly enjoyed. She’d be thrilled to be a family dog, happy to simply relax with you or join in on game nights.

When Lane is happy, she'll look up at you and smile, showing off her adorable "little teefies" in gratitude. She loves to be talked to and will stay right by your side as you move around the house. When seeking affection, she'll lean into you, and when you stop for a moment on a walk, she'll sit and gaze up at you, requesting more pets.

Lane has all the makings of a fantastic dog. She's motivated by food and affection, which will make training a rewarding experience for both of you. She already knows "sit" and is working on "lay down" and "roll over." Lane is a quick learner, respectful, and easy to walk on leash. She loves to explore with her nose and is unfazed by passing cars.

Lane prefers calmer dogs and does well with small dogs, so she could thrive in a home with a stable, relaxed canine sibling. She is also cat tolerant but finds them very interesting, so a home without cats is likely best. However, she will be respectful if you encounter a cat across the street on your walks. Lane would love a home with a yard for sunbathing and plenty of couch space, as the couch is her favorite spot!

Transportation

Adoptions are facilitated across the US through internal transport on USDA licensed vehicles, including buses and cargo vans, with 24/7 care. Transport is available to WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, and Canada (Canadian adopters will need to pick up in Bellingham, WA or Brattleboro, VT). You can follow their transport journey on a private Facebook event page. All adoptions within Texas must be picked up from Friendswood, Tx. An additional $87 surcharge for transport applies due to rising fuel and transportation expenses.
