Smokey

Meet Smokey! This handsome 2-year-old, 56-pound neutered Lab mix is full of fun and ready to find his forever family. He's fully vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date on all preventatives, making him all set to head home. Smokey is playful, smart, and has a wonderfully silly personality. He has a moderate energy level and enjoys a good romp with other dogs, but he's also great at sensing when it's time to chill. He's friendly when meeting new dogs and would truly shine with a confident, playful canine sibling to show him the ropes. Smokey has been calm around children during their visits while he was crated.

Ideal Home

Smokey would thrive in a moderately active home with a patient family and would do best with a confident, playful dog sibling. He can be okay with cats, though he is curious and may sometimes initiate a playful chase. He is nervous in the car and not a fan of the crate, though he does settle once inside. He should be crated when left alone for no longer than 9 hours, as he can be rambunctious and a bit of an escape artist.

Smokey is a healthy boy, up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives.

Training & Support

Smokey is still learning basic manners. He needs patient training with leash walking, as he can be a handful even with a harness. He does not resource guard and is happy to share, but he does think many things are edible! He sleeps through the night without stirring.
