Aranza

Aranza is a charming 4-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighing around 14 lbs, who is eagerly awaiting her forever family. Rescued in November 2023 from the streets of Matamoros, Mexico, she was initially found thin and suffering from scabies. Thanks to dedicated veterinary care, proper nutrition, and a loving foster environment, Aranza has made a remarkable recovery. She is now a happy, healthy, and affectionate girl with a gentle and sweet personality. Aranza is quite docile and playful, and she absolutely adores cuddling and snuggling with her favorite people. She forms strong bonds and thrives on close companionship. She's also great with children and friendly towards other dogs, making her a versatile addition to many households. Aranza enjoys her walks, exploring new sights and smells, and is a calm passenger on car rides. After her challenging beginnings, she deserves a home filled with the safety, love, and stability she’s always longed for, and she promises to repay that kindness with unwavering loyalty, affection, and companionship.

Ideal Home

Aranza would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the needs of street animals and their journey toward protection and education. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are highly encouraged. She requires high tolerance and patience for rescued pups.

Ongoing Health

Aranza has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworm and received a 4DX test. She is currently on monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She has a health certificate and vaccination booklet. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past trauma and may not be house-trained. Patience and understanding are crucial for building trust and a strong bond.

Training & Support

Aranza is not house-trained and will require patience and consistency from her new family. Families should be prepared to work on housetraining and understand that rescued animals often need time to adapt to new environments and routines.

• Photos and videos of your home are required for review.
• If it’s a potential match, you'll have a call or video chat to meet the pet virtually and conduct a virtual home tour.
• 1-2 references will be contacted.
• An adoption fee will be required upon approval to cover medical care, food, and other necessities.

Transportation

Aranza is currently fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on the next cross-country trip. Transportation is available door-to-door for a fee of $400 USD. Trips are scheduled 3-4 times per year, with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. A contracted transport company from Montana collects adopted pets in Mexico and escorts them across the border into Texas for US adoptions, or to the US-Canada border for Canadian adoptions, with all necessary legal and health documents. Adopters will be included in a private Facebook Messenger group for real-time updates on the pet's journey, including photos, videos, and estimated arrival times. The transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
