About Subwoofer
Subwoofer is a smart, silly, and affectionate 6-7 month old ACD/Husky mix with a heart of gold and a brain to match! He overcame a tough start with parvo as a tiny pup and has fully recovered, showing an incredible spirit and eagerness to learn. Subwoofer is a quick study, already mastering commands like 'sit,' 'down,' 'shake,' 'heel,' 'crate,' and 'leave it,' among others. He thrives on positive reinforcement and puzzle toys, making training an absolute joy. His foster family believes he has the potential to be an exceptionally well-trained and engaged dog.
Subwoofer has a perfect balance of energy and cuddles. He loves to play with all kinds of toys, from squeaky ones to durable chews, and then enjoys epic puppy naps. When he's not on the go, he's surprisingly affectionate and enjoys snuggling close. He's not a "Velcro dog" but likes to be near his people. And let's not forget his magnificent ears – they're a personality feature all their own!
Subwoofer’s ideal day starts around 7:00 am with a patient wait in his crate for breakfast, often served in a puzzle toy to engage his sharp mind. His days are a healthy mix of walks, training sessions, playtime, naps, and chewing. He's content to lounge on the couch, nap in his bed, or simply hang out nearby while his humans work. He willingly goes into his crate for bedtime and sleeps soundly through the night.
This social butterfly is great with other dogs of all sizes and has enjoyed off-leash playgroups. He's learning to read canine social cues and is doing well. A playful canine companion could be a good fit, but it's not a requirement. He's also done well with cats and has lived successfully with teenagers, as he shares their energetic and enthusiastic outlook on life.
Subwoofer enjoys his walks and is making excellent progress with loose-leash walking and learning to heel. He may occasionally bark at passing dogs or people he'd like to meet, but he's responding well to training. Birds are particularly fascinating to him, which can bring out a little extra enthusiasm!
He is house-trained with regular potty breaks and has excellent crate manners. He loves his crate as a safe and comfortable space. Like many puppies his age, he's teething and benefits from having appropriate chew toys readily available.
Ideal Home
Subwoofer is looking for a family who will continue to invest in his training and provide engaging outlets for his active mind. He would thrive with adopters interested in activities like agility, scent work, trick training, hiking, or any adventure that allows him to learn and bond with his people. A playful canine friend would be welcome, but not essential. Most importantly, he needs a family that recognizes his special qualities and is excited to help him reach his full potential.
Ongoing Health
Subwoofer is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped. He made a full recovery from parvo as a puppy.
Training & Support
Subwoofer is eager to learn and is already quite accomplished with various commands. He is house-trained and crate-trained. He benefits from having appropriate chew toys due to teething. He is learning canine social skills and how to recognize when another dog wants to play or be left alone.
