About Dahlia Daisy Flower the MINI Lab

Dahlia Daisy Flower is an 11-month-old "itty bitty labbie pittie" who is as sweet and delicate as the flower she's named after. Weighing in at around 35 pounds, she's expected to stay between 40-45 pounds, making her a wonderfully petite companion. Dahlia is a bundle of joy, greeting each day with enthusiasm after a peaceful night in her crate. She loves her morning routine of potty breaks and zoomies, followed by a brisk walk where her leash skills are nearly perfect, unless a squirrel makes an appearance! Her love for the outdoors extends to hitting trails and parks, where she joyfully makes new friends. Dahlia is wonderfully social with other dogs, seeing them as instant friends. While she can be a bit shy with new people initially, she warms up quickly and is incredibly sweet. She's also a water-lover, not hesitating to jump into any creek or river she encounters, making her an ideal camping companion for those PNW summers.

During the workday, Dahlia is content to snooze at her foster mom's side, occasionally taking breaks for zoomies with the four other dogs in the household. She lives harmoniously with two small female dogs, one medium male dog, and one large female dog, though smaller dogs in the home should be able to assert their boundaries. Dahlia's favorite pastimes include chasing pinecones she tosses herself and carrying around big sticks.

Ideal Home

Dahlia would thrive in an active home that can provide at least two walks per day. She would be happiest with another playful dog in the home or the opportunity for regular doggy daycare visits if her people work full-time outside the home. While she could live in a dog-friendly apartment or condo, plenty of exercise is crucial. She has not been tested with cats, but we believe she would do well with respectful children 8 and up.

Ongoing Health

Dahlia is up-to-date on all her vetting, including DAPP vaccines with boosters, Bordetella, Rabies, multiple deworming treatments, and flea and heartworm prevention. She has also been spayed and microchipped.

Training & Support

Dahlia is crate and house-trained. She may cry in her crate initially when left alone, but she does settle down. This is something to consider for homes with shared walls, but with plenty of exercise, she can be a great apartment dweller. She also needs to have her crate routine re-established in her new home, though she would eventually love to share a bed with her humans. She is a fantastic copilot in the car and is well-behaved at meal times, though separate eating spaces are always encouraged for multi-dog homes.
