Maverick

Maverick is a handsome husky mix with a heart full of potential, just waiting for his loving forever home. He arrived with us after experiencing abuse and abandonment, which has understandably left him with some trust issues. Maverick can be a bit wary in certain situations and may resource guard his kennel and food. If you'd been through what he has, you'd understand why! However, this boy shines when he's outside his kennel, greeting people with great excitement on walks and in the yard. He loves to play with other dogs his size, though he can get a little overstimulated and might need a gentle reminder to redirect his energy, especially with the ladies.

Ideal Home

Maverick's ideal family will be patient and willing to go slow, allowing him to build trust at his own pace. He needs a home where he can feel safe and secure, realizing he doesn't always have to be on guard.

Maverick is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Maverick can resource guard his kennel and food due to his past experiences. With patience and trust-building, he has shown he can relax, even allowing a trusted volunteer to pet him while he eats. He may need redirection during play, especially with female dogs, as he can get easily excited.
