Wanda is a sweet, approximately 2-3-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix who weighs around 38 pounds. She was found wandering the streets, malnourished and covered in ticks and fleas, searching for food and shelter. Despite her rough start, Wanda is a very active, playful, energetic, and loving companion. She does best as the only dog in the home and is not social with large dogs, though she has been fine with small dogs.
Ideal Home
Wanda would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and daily walks. Her ideal family will have experience with the breed, a strong understanding of rescue animals and their need for patience and education, and experience with dog behavior and training. Families with an open conscience about the needs of rescued street animals and high tolerance for rescued puppies will be a great fit.
Ongoing Health
Wanda has undergone a comprehensive health protocol including being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and tested for several common diseases (4DX, heartworm). She is on monthly preventive medication for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Wanda is not house-trained, and her foster team acknowledges that it's challenging to house-train every foster due to the sheer number of animals needing care. She will require patience and consistent training to help her learn house manners.
