Triton is a handsome fellow who arrived at Animal Services as a stray. He came in with some matting, but thankfully, a kind rescue partner stepped in to get him cleaned up. We saw his adorable photo and knew we had to help. Triton has a unique, slightly awkward gait, which is due to a birth defect where both of his femurs are curved, causing his knees to turn outward. While this affects his walk, he gets around quite well and uses his feet. Due to the wear and tear on his knees, he already has arthritis and is on daily anti-inflammatories. In the future, he might need a wheelchair, but for now, Triton is very mobile on his own. Walks aren't his favorite activity, but he absolutely adores belly rubs and being close to his people. He's a mellow dog with brief bursts of excitement, especially when playtime happens! Dinner is his most cherished time of day. Triton enjoys playing with toys but also has a tendency to eat them, so stuffies are a no-go. However, he's happy with a good chew bone. Could you have a special place in your heart for Triton?
Ideal Home
A home that understands his medical needs and can provide him with a comfortable environment where he can relax and receive plenty of affection. He enjoys being with his people and would likely do best in a home where he isn't left alone for extended periods.
Ongoing Health
Triton has arthritis in his knees due to a congenital defect and is currently on daily anti-inflammatories. He may require a wheelchair in the future, but he is mobile now.
Training & Support
