Roo Onslow

Roo is a beautiful, mature redhead! She's a 7-year-old Redbone Foxhound mix who can be a little shy at first, preferring quiet corners. However, her playful side emerges during playtime with her foster sister, when there's a scent to follow outdoors, or when food is involved! Once she trusts you, Roo is a cuddlebug, and her playful nature shines, especially with a canine companion to show her the ropes. She's great with other dogs and has been observed cuddling with her puppy foster sister. Roo is a smart girl who knows to retreat to her crate or a quiet spot when feeling overwhelmed, scared, or for a good night's sleep. She's also happy to snuggle in bed with her foster family. Roo is a pro at using a doggy door and patiently waits for her meals. She's overcome a traumatic past and is learning to embrace a loving pack, a warm bed, and the joy of toys. You're sure to fall in love with Roo!

Ideal Home

Roo would thrive in a home where she can feel safe and comfortable. A home with another dog, especially a younger or more confident one, would be ideal for her to learn and play.

Ongoing Health

Roo is heartworm positive and has a special diet to manage her kidney disease.

Training & Support

Roo has mastered housetraining with a doggy door. She generally retreats when overwhelmed, showing good self-soothing skills.
