Bandit is an approximately 1-year-old, newly spayed sweetheart who is ready to leave the shelter behind and start her next chapter. Shelter life has been stressful for her, but she has the most endearing coping mechanism—she finds comfort carrying a stuffy in her mouth, which helps her feel safe and secure. Bandit came in with another female dog, but in the shelter environment she has been reactive toward other dogs. Because of this, she would do best as the only pet in her future home, where she can relax and not feel overwhelmed. In a quiet, low-stimulation environment, Bandit truly shines. She will gently come over for attention and pets and enjoys calm companionship. She tends to prefer women and takes a bit longer to warm up to men, so patience and gentle introductions are important for her to feel comfortable. Bandit is still learning about the world and about herself, and we are continuing to learn what type of home will help her thrive. With time, consistency, and love, she has so much potential to become a devoted, loving companion. If you’re looking for a special girl who just needs someone to believe in her, Bandit may be the one.
