About Philip
Meet Phillip, a 50-pound Staffy mix with a talent for flinging plush toys and a heart full of love! Phillip absolutely adores playtime, and his enthusiasm for toys is matched only by his desire for snuggle time, especially after he's conquered bath time like the champion he is!
Phillip may be a bit shy initially, but don't let that fool you. He's a big-hearted pup who's steadily gaining confidence and finding his voice. His leash manners are improving daily, and while he might momentarily lead the walk, a patient hand and a few well-timed pauses get him right back on track.
Phillip gets along wonderfully with other dogs, both big and small. He's shown his social charm with pups his own size and even a Great Pyrenees puppy, proving he can make friends with just about anyone. He's also great with men and women, though he's still learning that raised hands are for gentle pets, not for anything to fear. We suspect he's had some difficult experiences, and he's learning that hands can be a source of love and affection.
This sweet boy has a moderate to high energy level, meaning he enjoys playtime and exercise but also loves relaxing with his people. He needs daily physical activity and mental stimulation, whether it's a good walk or engaging puzzle toys. Phillip is crate-trained and doesn't dig, but he does have a strong affinity for his chew toys, so supervised play is key!
Phillip knows "sit," and while he can get a little too excited when treats are involved, he's making excellent progress. He needs a patient and understanding home that will support his journey as he continues to grow into the most loyal companion. Phillip is looking for a home that will give him the space to blossom into the confident, happy dog he's meant to be. Are you ready to welcome this sweet, toy-loving boy into your life?
Ideal Home
Phillip needs a home that understands he is a work in progress and is willing to give him the love and patience he needs to continue growing. Homes with children 10 years and over are recommended to ensure the best fit for both Phillip and the family.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions or procedures were mentioned.
Training & Support
Phillip is working on his confidence and leash manners. He can get overly excited when treats are involved and needs supervised play with his chew toys. He is learning that raised hands are for petting, not for threats.
