A little about them
Say hello to Rory, affectionately known as Roo! Rescued from a puppy mill in March 2025, Roo is a gentle, shy Cocker Spaniel learning the joy of being a beloved family member. Every tail wag and tiny moment of trust feels incredibly special.
Ideal Home
Roo is looking for a calm, patient, female-only home with a gentle, confident dog—or two—to serve as a mentor and friend. New people make her nervous, but she warms up quickly and seeks pets and reassurance from her person. Loud sounds, startling noises, fast hand motions, and sudden experiences can be overwhelming, and she may hide until she feels safe.
Roo enjoys spending time in or near her covered crate den and likes to keep her foster mom in sight. She is food motivated and responds well to praise and positive reinforcement.
Ongoing Health
Roo currently takes inexpensive medication to help with anxiety. She is approximately 28 pounds and is estimated to be 5 years old.
Training & Support
Roo has started coming when called and happily responds to “good girl!” Housebreaking has been slow, and she currently uses potty pads. She is not yet comfortable walking on a leash and may hunker down when outside. She will need a family willing to help her continue growing at her own pace.
