Rory

Say hello to Rory, affectionately known as Roo! This gentle and shy girl was rescued from a puppy mill and is taking her first steps towards becoming a beloved family member. Roo is still learning to trust, but with patience and kindness, she's blossoming every day. She would do best in a calm, female-only home where she can feel safe and secure.

Ideal Home

Roo feels most comfortable around other dogs and will need a home with at least one other dog to serve as a confident mentor and friend. She can be nervous around new people but warms up quickly, especially with reassurance. Loud noises, sudden movements, and startling experiences are challenging for her, and she will retreat to her safe space until she feels secure again. She is not a dog who will enjoy walks in the park or patio dining.

Ongoing Health

Roo is currently taking medication to help manage her anxiety.

Training & Support

Roo is highly motivated by food and responds well to positive reinforcement and praise. She is learning to come when called and gets excited when praised. Due to her past, "outside" is a new and sometimes frightening experience for her. Housebreaking is still a work in progress, and she currently uses potty pads. She is not yet comfortable walking on a leash.
