Meet Annie!
Annie is a spirited almost five-year-old German Shepherd with a beautiful sable coat, weighing around 55 pounds. She's a lively blend of intelligence, loyalty, and boundless outdoor joy. Annie is bright, curious, and embodies the classic Shepherd spirit, loving to explore the woods, chase butterflies, and twirl under the open sky! She is wonderfully smart and has completed formal obedience training, confidently responding to commands like sit, stay, and down. Annie is crate trained and often chooses her crate as her own cozy retreat. She thrives on connection and activity, adjusting easily to daily routines and loving to be part of her caregiver's life. Whether it's a car ride adventure or a playful afternoon with her favorite people, she's a wonderful, constant companion.
Ideal Home
Annie truly comes alive outdoors and would be happiest in a home with wide-open spaces, fresh air, and room to run and explore. A securely fenced yard or a rural setting is ideal for her. She needs a single-pet, child-free environment with minimal visiting animals. She is not compatible with other dogs or cats.
Ongoing Health
Annie requires a family prepared to support her special care needs. She has been diagnosed with Ventricular Premature Contraction (VPC), a heart condition that makes anesthesia unsafe, which is why she has not been spayed. She also has a past seizure history, though she has not had any recent episodes.
Training & Support
Annie has completed formal obedience training and is crate trained. She would benefit from an experienced German Shepherd pet parent who understands her need for structure, positive reinforcement, and thoughtful guidance. While Annie can show interest in playing with other dogs, she can become overwhelmed quickly and may react in ways that require careful management, including a past incident where she harmed another dog who entered her space. She would thrive with a confident caregiver who can provide consistent boundaries, recognize her signals, and support her with ongoing training and behavior guidance.
