Cowboy

Cowboy is a 2-year-old, neutered male pit bull with a heart of gold! He was found tied at a park and has been with us ever since, blossoming into a wonderful companion. Cowboy adores a good game of tug-of-war, especially with his favorite large rope toys. He's also highly motivated by treats and has proven to be a training superstar, already mastering "sit" and "down," with "drop it" and "leave it" well in progress. He walks beautifully on leash, checks in frequently, and responds well to gentle guidance. Cowboy is doing wonderfully on a three-times-a-day potty schedule and is happy to use a crate. He thrives with routine and structure.

Ideal Home

Cowboy would do best in a home that can provide him with routine and structure. He gets scared of cars, especially trucks, due to a past traumatic experience. While he is happy to go for car rides and has managed 30-minute trips, he can be nervous on busy streets. He is much more comfortable with passing cars on quieter streets. Cowboy gets excited around cats and other dogs, showing his enthusiasm with a wagging tail and happy disposition.

Ongoing Health

Cowboy miraculously came out of a past incident with a truck without injuries. We are patient and understanding of his resulting car fear.

Training & Support

Cowboy is a quick learner and excels with positive reinforcement. His "drop it" command is developing wonderfully through structured tug games. We're continuing to work on his confidence around cars, especially on busy streets.
