Loki is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued with his mother and littermates from a rural dumping area outside of Houston and has grown up loved and cared for in a foster home. Loki is the brave and curious ringleader of his litter, always the first to explore new things and playfully energetic. He's a master of "furniture parkour" and loves a good game of keep-away with his toys. While he has plenty of playful energy, he's also a cuddly companion who loves to snuggle after a day of adventure. Loki is potty trained and enjoys being around people and other dogs. He has greeted children positively at community events and has some experience with crates.
Ideal Home
Loki would thrive in a home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Loki. If you don't have a resident dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization, such as structured training classes, supervised daycare, or regular playdates. Because Loki is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Loki is potty trained but may have a few accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing socialization, positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive.
