About Cade
Heddo! My name is Cade, and I also respond to "Big Stinky!" I’m a 5-year-old, roughly 90-pound American Bulldog who has been patiently waiting for my forever home for four years! I was rescued by Samson's Sanctuary after being abandoned in Azusa, California, in April 2022. Despite my size, I have a heart overflowing with love. My favorite pastime is sprawling on the couch, belly-up, showing just how relaxed and content I am. While I can be a little cautious around new men initially, needing a little time and perhaps a female presence to warm up, my loyalty is fierce once I trust you. I’m also best buds with my foster dads' friends and love joining them on adventures!
Speaking of adventures, I'm always ready for a good hike and adore playing in the water. Exploring new scents and discovering what's around the next corner is my jam! I like to take my time on hikes, soaking it all in and proudly parading the biggest stick I can find. I'm independent but enjoy companionship and prefer my people to be home, though I don't need to be in the same room constantly. A gentle head rest on your lap or a good butt scratch session is pure bliss. I prefer to be petted on my back initially, but once I trust you, head scratches are welcome!
I get along wonderfully with other dogs my size and smaller, as long as they are friendly. However, I do tend to chase cats, so a feline-free home would be best. I've even proven to be gentle and listen well around a baby in my foster home! I'm highly food-motivated, which makes training a treat, and I’ll certainly let you know if someone’s at the door – I'm a great, alert guard dog! Squeaky toys, tug-of-war, bones, and frozen treats are among my favorite things.
I’ve been in foster care for a while, but my foster mom and trainer have worked diligently to teach me new skills, providing structure and boundaries. I walk well on a loose leash, have excellent off-leash recall, am e-collar trained, muzzle trained, and know many commands. I'm incredibly smart and a fast learner, especially when motivated by food! I enjoy puzzle toys for mental stimulation and would love a yard for zoomies, though trips to the park are equally exciting. You can even follow my adventures on social media @CadeTheBulldog! I'm searching for a patient and loving family who will embrace me for who I am and join me on countless adventures. Previous American Bulldog experience is a plus! Could I be your snuggle buddy forever?
Ideal Home
A patient and loving home that will embrace Cade for who he is and take him on adventures. A home with a yard is preferred for zoomies, but park visits are also great. Previous American Bulldog experience is a plus. A feline-free home is a must.
