Smiley Wiley is a special and amazing German Shepherd mix, approximately 1 year old and weighing 65 lbs, who is sure to steal your heart with his stunning looks and even more incredible personality. He's athletic, loyal, and ready for any adventure, big or small. Wiley is famously known for his big, bear-like hugs that are guaranteed to make any bad day better. He's a true gem who bonds deeply with his people and thrives on confident leadership and structure. Wiley is a smart boy who already knows commands like sit, down, and wait, and he's incredibly treat-motivated and eager to please, making him a joy to train. He loves to be involved in activities like walks, hikes, and could even be a great running partner. When it's time to relax, Wiley is happy to settle down with his favorite toy and is content just being near his people, often cuddling up on the couch. He has a lot of love to give and is ready to be your devoted companion.
Ideal Home
Wiley would do best in a home with a semi-active family who enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and running. He would also appreciate a large backyard for stretching his legs and enjoying the sunshine. While he has done well with younger children, he tends to prefer the company of older kids (15 and up) who can understand and respect his need for personal space. He would also do best in a home with another confident, playful female dog, as a canine companion can help guide him and build his confidence in new situations. Wiley is not a good fit for homes with cats.
Ongoing Health
Wiley is up-to-date on all his vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. He has also been heartworm tested and treated if needed, and microchipped with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Wiley is a smart dog who already knows several commands and is very eager to please. He responds well to structure and training. While he can be a little nervous in new situations, having another confident dog in the home will help him build his confidence. He enjoys engaging playtime and responds well to positive reinforcement.

Smiley Wiley is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. For Canadian adopters, pick-up can be arranged in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT.
