Grover Chillington!
Grover's journey began at a high-kill shelter in Houston, where he was sadly placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, a wonderful foster family stepped in, recognizing Grover's true worth. Now, we're thrilled to share that Grover is pure perfection!
While initially aged at 6 years old, multiple vet assessments suggest Grover is likely 2-3 years old, definitely not older than 3. Weighing around 48 pounds, he's the perfect medium size. Grover embodies the definition of "chill" and possesses an old soul. He thrives on being part of his family's activities, whether it's relaxing in the backyard, joining for a leisurely walk, or claiming the coziest spot for a nap. He enjoys outdoor exploration but isn't a high-energy athlete; a couple of daily walks and quality family time are all he needs. He's even great off-leash and stays close to his foster dad on their farm.
Grover is fully house-trained and exhibits excellent house manners. He settles well indoors, gets along with everyone he meets, isn't destructive, and appreciates a comfy bed after a day of adventures. He can be a little shy initially but quickly warms up and enjoys belly rubs. Grover has done well with other dogs and farm animals, quickly winning over new friends with his gentle and friendly nature. His charming personality makes him a delight. We believe he might be a hound/cattle dog mix, but his low energy and quiet demeanor make him a true unicorn if so!
Ideal Home
Grover would love a home that offers plenty of affection, a soft place to sleep, and people who cherish having a devoted canine companion by their side.
Ongoing Health
Grover is currently finishing up heartworm treatment and will be ready for his forever home in July. He is fully vaccinated, on prevention, microchipped, and neutered.
Training & Support
Grover is a well-behaved boy with excellent house manners and is great off-leash. His gentle nature means he's already a champion at winning hearts.
