Benny is an approximately 1.5-year-old Pit Bull/Husky mix who is looking for a family to call his own. This sweet boy has quickly settled into foster care and has proven to be an affectionate, eager-to-please companion who simply loves being around his people. Benny loves hugs, hearing he's a "good boy," snuggling, treats, walks, car rides, and spending time with both kids and other dogs. He has a playful, curious personality and always wants to know what you're doing so he can be part of the fun. Whether it's playing in the yard or relaxing on the couch, Benny is happiest when he's with his family. Benny gets along well with children, dogs, and cats. He is friendly and playful with other dogs and has shown no food aggression around either dogs or kids. Benny is a smart boy who is highly treat motivated and catches on to routines quickly. He is currently learning commands such as "down," "sit," "lay," "stay," and "gentle." He has already made wonderful progress with keeping all four paws on the ground instead of jumping up to greet people. Benny is also warming up to his crate, and keeping him on a consistent routine has helped him continue building confidence. When meeting strangers, Benny may bark initially, but he warms up quickly and is very receptive to gentle correction and guidance. His foster describes him as a loving dog who simply enjoys feeling loved in return.
