About RITCHEY ROO (aka RICHARD)

Exuberant, jubilant, and yet laid-back too, Ritchey (aka Richard) was made to be man's best friend! This happy boy is all about humans and loves to lounge around inside or out, soaking up affection and your company. He’s a house-trained pup who’s comfortable being left alone and would ideally thrive in a home with a fenced yard.

Richard can switch from couch potato to energetic goofball in an instant, especially when a leash or food is involved. He's a gentle soul but can get overly excited, sometimes jumping and being a bit too enthusiastic, especially when food or walks are on the horizon. He’s a vocal fellow, but only when he has something important (and often humorous) to say.

Estimated to be around 5-6 years old and currently weighing 90 lbs, Ritchey could benefit from a diet and increased physical activity. He loves to sleep in bed with his human and has learned the command "OVER" to ensure everyone gets enough space! He doesn't seem to be interested in toys or playing fetch, but he thoroughly enjoys car rides and walks, though he does require some leash training as he can be a strong puller.

Ritchey has proven to be adaptable, doing well in foster homes and boarding facilities where he's a favorite due to his easy-going nature and good company. While he's been friendly through fences and non-reactive to other dogs at boarding facilities, his overwhelming excitement means he'd be happiest as the only spoiled pup in the home. He’s a very lovable boy who, while not for everyone, is more than fabulous for the right person or people!
