Aranza is a charming 4-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighing around 14 lbs, who is ready to embark on a new adventure with her forever family! She was rescued in November 2023, found wandering alone in Matamoros, Mexico. Aranza was underweight and suffering from scabies at the time, but with dedicated veterinary care, good food, and the love of her foster family, she's made a remarkable recovery. Today, she's a happy, healthy, and affectionate pup with a gentle and loving soul. Aranza is docile, enjoys playtime, and adores cuddling with her favorite people, forming strong bonds with those she loves. She's also great with children and friendly with other dogs, making her a versatile companion. Walks and car rides are a delight for her as she explores the world. After her challenging start, Aranza is longing for a secure, loving, and stable home where she can share her immense loyalty, affection, and companionship.
Ideal Home
Aranza would thrive in a home with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a fenced backyard. She needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs of street animals, including their potential behaviors and need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly desired, or a willingness to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience are essential for her adjustment period.
Ongoing Health
Aranza has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed, receiving DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, being dewormed, and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has had a negative 4DX test. She is on monthly preventive medication for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. She has a health certificate and vaccination booklet. Please be aware that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period and might not be house-trained upon arrival.
Training & Support
Aranza is not house-trained. Patience and understanding are crucial, as rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties from past experiences and need time to adapt to new environments. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help her feel secure.

Transportation
Aranza is currently fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. We offer door-to-door delivery through a partnered transport company. Trips are scheduled 3-4 times a year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. The transport fee is $400 USD. You will receive real-time updates throughout your pet's journey.
