About Pop
Hello, I'm Pop! I'm a happy-go-lucky dog with super soft fur and adorable white markings on my nose. My fur is thicker and fuller than most pitties, perhaps due to some Border Collie in my mix! I came from New Mexico with my brother and sister when I was very young.
I'm fully potty trained and will let you know when I need to go out by laying by the door. I'm also kennel trained, though I don't particularly enjoy being in my kennel. I'm trustworthy enough to be left out and I don't tend to get into trouble, usually just opting for a nap. At night, I love to snuggle up as close to my foster mom as possible for warmth! I know "sit," "stay," "wait," and "off," and I'm working on "come."
I'm food-motivated and especially love peanut butter and yogurt. I always wait for the "okay" command before eating and I'm getting much better at taking treats gently when reminded. I live with a wonderful 10-year-old foster sister and have met her friends. I'm great with my foster sister but can be a bit barky at her friends initially. I'm a little unsure of young children at first because they move so quickly, but I do warm up after about 10 minutes and just want to give them kisses. I'm not sure about cats, but I absolutely adore other dogs! I'm my slightly younger foster brother's emotional support dog, and he needs to be by my side. I love playing with my almost two-year-old, 55lb foster sister, enjoying tug, keep away, and chase. My almost four-year-old, 96lb foster brother tolerates my playful pokes. My favorite doggy games include wrestling, zoomies, and tug-of-war. I also really enjoy walks in the neighborhood.
I'm smart and eager to learn new things. I want to be friends with everyone, though I do take my time warming up. I love to snuggle and be adored. I'm ready for adventures and exploration, and would make a fantastic hiking buddy and traveling companion. Most importantly, I want to be with my people, have a canine friend, and live the best life!
My dream day would involve a morning walk, a good breakfast, lots of playtime, a nap, a lunch snack, more playtime, an afternoon nap, dinner, more playtime, snuggles, and a final potty break before bed. My foster mom even wrote a song for me, so I guess I'm a bit like Puff the Magic Dragon! I love stuffed toys, tough chew toys, and anything I can play tug with. While I enjoy playtime, I also appreciate long naps in between. Seeing my people when they get home makes my whole body wiggle and my tail wag!
Ideal Home
I'm looking for a family with older children, another dog, and an active lifestyle. Sleeping in bed with my humans is a must! I deserve an awesome family that will continue to work with me on my quirks and celebrate my amazingness every day!
Ongoing Health
No specific health concerns were mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
I'm working on "come." I am also still learning to take treats gently. While I'm great with my foster sister, I can be initially barky with her friends and cautious with young children. With a little time, I warm up and become very affectionate.
