Forrest

Meet Forrest! He's a 4-month-old, 12-13 pound Schnauzer mix with a heart of gold and a spirit of a champion. Forrest had a rough start to life; he and his sibling were found abandoned in the woods with their mother, who was in very poor condition. Thankfully, they were rescued and brought to safety. Forrest was found to have a congenital heart murmur caused by a PDA, and he's scheduled for surgery on July 7th at James River Veterinary Surgery. Once he recovers, he'll be ready to find his forever home!

Ideal Home

Forrest is a social butterfly who absolutely adores other dogs and loves to play and wrestle all day. He's still learning the ropes of house and leash manners, so a home that can provide patient guidance would be wonderful.

Ongoing Health

Forrest will be undergoing surgery to correct a PDA on July 7th. He will need time to recover fully after the procedure.

Training & Support

Forrest is a smart boy and is learning quickly! He's currently working on leash walking and potty training, and he's also being crate trained for sleep. As with all dogs under two years old, completing training classes within six months of adoption is required to finalize his adoption.
