Meet Rio!

Rio is a beautiful, young Shepherd mix with a hint of Whippet, born around May 1, 2025. Weighing about 30 pounds, she's growing into a graceful and athletic medium-sized dog. Rescued from an abandoned home in Texas, Rio is resilient, friendly, and has a gentle spirit that makes her a wonderful companion. She is very smart and eager to please, with so much potential to be an amazing furry family member.

Ideal Home

Rio would love an active person or family who is excited to continue her learning and growth. She is gentle and friendly with children aged 10 and over and would also enjoy a canine companion to play with, though this is not required.

Ongoing Health

Rio is a healthy pup.

Training & Support

Rio is doing wonderfully with her house and crate training and is even learning to ring a bell to signal when she needs to go outside! She's a quick learner and is also working on her leash manners. Like any rescue, Rio is a work in progress and will blossom with continued love and positive reinforcement.

Transporation

Rio is currently being fostered in Massachusetts and transportation to her forever home can be coordinated by our rescue.
