About Sol

I’m Sol, a ~2-year-old, 55 lb Shepherd-Husky mix who is ready to find my forever home. I’m a very affectionate dog who loves my people deeply. I was rescued from a high-kill shelter and have been bouncing between fosters, but I’m ready for a place to call my own. I settle in well with structure and guidance, and I’m happy just hanging on the couch after a walk. I love cuddles and bonding time with my humans. I respond well to consistent training and am an amazing student with a little husky sassiness! I enjoy playing with dogs I connect with, but I need supervised play to correct any pushy or dominant behavior, as I’m still learning. I know basic commands like sit and down, and I make great eye contact when you engage with me.

Ideal Home

I’m looking for an experienced owner familiar with breeds like Shepherds and Huskies. A home in a suburb with a fenced yard and access to trail walks would be ideal. I would love a dog sibling or friend to run and play with. A dog-busy neighborhood or an apartment is not the right fit for me at this time.

Ongoing Health

I am spayed/neutered, up-to-date on Rabies, DHPP, Lepto, and Bordetella vaccines, and have been dewormed. I’ve had a wellness checkup, heartworm test, and blood tests. I am microchipped and registered with AKC Reunited.

Training & Support

I’m working on my leash frustrations when seeing other dogs and am learning to manage my lunging and barking. My foster family is working with trainers to help me, and they will share all the information needed to continue my routine. I am not suitable for dog parks but do well with 1:1 playdates after slow introductions.
