Dahlia Daisy Flower is a delightful 10-month-old "itty bitty labbie pittie" who is as sweet and delicate as her floral namesake. Currently weighing around 35 pounds, she's expected to mature to a petite 40-45 pounds. Dahlia is a morning person, eager to start her day with a potty break and some energetic zoomies, followed by a brisk walk where her leash skills are nearly perfect, unless a squirrel makes an appearance! She absolutely loves exploring trails and parks, making new friends along the way, and isn't afraid to take a dip in any creek or river she encounters, making her a potential dream camping companion. Dahlia is also a wonderful office assistant, happily snoozing by your side during work hours and enjoying playtime with the other dogs in her foster home. She coexists beautifully with four other resident pups of varying sizes and enjoys her favorite pastimes of chasing pinecones and carrying large sticks.
Ideal Home
Dahlia would thrive in a home with another playful dog to be her companion, or with access to regular doggy daycare if her humans work outside the home. While she could do well in a dog-friendly apartment or condo, ample exercise is a must. She has not been tested with cats or children, but given her sweet nature, we believe she would do very well with respectful children aged 8 and up who will engage in play with her. She is a fantastic copilot on car rides and settles in well. Dahlia is house-trained and crate-trained, but she will initially cry when left alone in her crate, settling down eventually. This vocalization should be considered for homes with shared walls.
Ongoing Health
Dahlia is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations. Her adoption fee includes all vetting, including preventatives, and a health certificate for travel.
Training & Support
Dahlia is crate and house-trained. While she settles in her crate overnight without issue after establishing a routine, she may need this routine re-established in her new home. She also cries initially when left alone in her crate. She is learning to assert boundaries with smaller dogs and accepts proper corrections from them.
