Niko Bear looks like he stepped right out of an action movie – he's big, handsome, and has a rugged exterior that turns heads. But beneath that tough guy facade is one of the sweetest, gentlest souls you'll ever meet. He's basically a teddy bear in disguise, weighing around 74 lbs and estimated to be 4 years old, possibly a Pittie/Shepherd mix. Niko has a calm, easygoing nature and is content to mosey through life at his own pace, enjoying quiet companionship. He can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly, leaning in for affection with the sweetest gaze.
Niko is a social butterfly with other dogs, doing well with all temperaments and sizes. He enjoys being around them but is happy doing his own thing, occasionally engaging in gentle "lazy mouthy play." He was also respectful and calm around a resident cat, and a sleepover can be arranged to test this further. Niko is potty trained and has excellent house manners. He's making progress with crate training and is not destructive. He enjoys being outdoors and would be happiest in a home with a backyard.
Ideal Home
Niko would do best in a home that appreciates his calm, steady presence. He would do well with another dog who enjoys companionship without needing a constant playmate. A home with a backyard would be ideal for him to explore at his own pace.
Ongoing Health
Niko is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention. He has a microchip with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Niko is potty trained and has great house manners. He is still building confidence with crate training, but is improving daily. He is working on his leash skills and would be a great companion for leisurely neighborhood strolls.
