Charlie

Charlie is a sweet, energetic 1½-year-old Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix who weighs between 85–90 pounds. He was unfortunately left at a shelter and was facing euthanasia due to overcrowding. Thankfully, he was given a second chance and is now in a foster home, eagerly awaiting his forever family! Charlie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heartworm negative. He's crate and house-trained, and loves to play ball, especially tennis balls, though he enjoys a good game of keep-away with them. He's also a smart cookie, knowing commands like heel, sit, come, stay, off, and gentle. He's still working on "down" and could excel in advanced training or even agility!

Ideal Home

Charlie would thrive in a home with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures. He'd make an excellent hiking or running partner! Due to his size and enthusiasm, he'd do best with teenage children or adults, as he might accidentally knock over smaller children. He prefers female dogs over males and his high energy may be too much for a cat. Absolutely no tie-outs or electric fences will be permitted for Charlie.

Ongoing Health

Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Charlie knows several commands including heel, sit, come, stay, off (no jumping), and gentle. He is still working on "down." He is crate trained and potty trained. He rides well in the car and does not struggle with anxiety.
