Meet Rebecca De La Cruz. Rebecca De La Cruz is from Georgia and breeds Bernese Mountain Dogs. Here at Pony Trail Farm, Bernese Mountain Dogs enjoy life surrounded by acreage, children, and a variety of animals, and enjoy their job as family guardians. Berners were bred as passive guardian and working dogs, and have a unique skill set that is inborn.  Some are better than others at their job.  We recommend that if you are looking for a family guardian, companion dog, or working farm dog, that you purchase one from parents proven to do well with children and other animals, so that there is a history of the correct temperament.  Our Berners instinctively guard their family, and have been socialized with children from the time that they were puppies.  On the farm, they are also exposed to goats, cows, other dogs & cats. They have proven to be easily trained. We offer a health guarantee as well as a return policy on puppies. All puppies are given their first vaccinations and worming prior to sale, and will be microchipped. Our Berner puppies are currently priced at $2500 with Limited AKC and some may be available for $3000 with full AKC registration. All pups come with a 12-month health warranty, as well as an orthopedic warranty up to 2 years on hips. Our breeding program focuses on family companions that are AKC registered dogs with soundness of body and mind. Our sire Sam comes from generations of show dogs, with Champion lines.  His parents were also raised in a farm environment, and he has a wonderful instinct for loyalty and passive protection. Our goal is to have all breeding stock OFA certified Good or better on hips, and also normal in shoulders, elbows, knees, and cardiac.  We select for dogs who will have long productive lives as family guardians or companions.  We are selecting those with a strong bonding instinct and family history of health and soundness.  We do not show (but some of our dogs are very beautiful!), but focus on producing strong, healthy, dependable dogs that will give many years of companionship.  We live in a coyote and feral-dog haven, so are very grateful to our faithful watchers of the night.  On the other hand, these dogs also have to be trainable and gentle with the many children who frequent our farm. They will bond closely and always be on alert! AKC proudly supports dedicated and responsible breeders. We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask the breeder. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.
