Bourbon is a handsome boy who, like a fine bourbon, may be a little reserved at first, but with time and patience, his warm and sweet personality starts to shine through. He was born in May 2024 and is still learning to trust the world around him, sometimes feeling nervous in new situations. Thankfully, he finds comfort in the company of other dogs and enjoys following their lead. Having a confident canine companion in his forever home would be a great help for Bourbon to continue building confidence and feeling secure.
Bourbon came to us alongside his mama and her newborn puppies after they had been living outside. His mama is a Chihuahua, and the neighbor’s scruffy white dog is said to be his dad, giving Bourbon his adorable, unique look. Because of his past, he will need continued patience, understanding, and guidance while adjusting to life as a loved family member. Beneath his cautious exterior is a sweet boy who deserves the chance to finally relax, feel secure, and know what it means to be truly loved.
Ideal Home
Bourbon would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help him build confidence. He is considered a flight risk, so his new family must be committed to careful introductions, secure fencing, and extra precautions to help keep him safe as he continues gaining confidence.
Ongoing Health
Bourbon is up-to-date on vaccinations, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention. He has had a fecal analysis and a health exam completed by a veterinarian.
Training & Support
Bourbon needs continued patience, understanding, and guidance as he adjusts to life as a loved family member and gains confidence. His new family should be prepared for careful introductions and implementing safety precautions due to him being a flight risk.
