Roxie is a lovely Hound Mix, approximately 3-4 years old and weighing 25-30 lbs. She has made incredible progress overcoming her fears and is blossoming into a confident, sweet, and quirky companion. While loud noises can still make her uneasy, she's learning to manage her reactions and will let you know with a bark. Roxie truly shines on walks, where she's a focused explorer who loves to follow her nose. She's very interested in small critters like squirrels and bunnies, so an attentive handler is a must! At home, Roxie is a well-behaved lady who enjoys her toys, lounging on the couch, or relaxing in her crate. She has made good progress with cats, learning to coexist without chasing, though the temptation can still be there! With patience and slow introductions, she may continue to adjust. She can be sensitive during transitions and may show occasional signs of anxiety, and while she has had mild separation anxiety in the past, it's improving. She's generally neutral with other dogs but can sometimes react if overstimulated; she's slowly building positive relationships with her neighbors at her own pace.
Ideal Home
Roxie would thrive in a calm, patient, and understanding home where her continued growth can be supported. Given her interest in small critters and potential reactions to overstimulation, a home that can manage her excitement on walks and with other dogs would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
No specific ongoing health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Roxie will need a refresher in house-training. She may occasionally show signs of anxiety, especially during transitions, and while her separation anxiety is improving, it's something to be mindful of. Enrolling in obedience training is strongly recommended to help her transition and build a bond with her new family.
