This gentle five-year-old mixed breed, with lineage including American Pitbull Terrier, German Shepherd, Chow Chow, and other breeds, is a large, 75-pound companion who carries himself with thoughtful charm. Benson's soft cream coat and soulful eyes tell stories of loyalty, sensitivity, and quiet devotion. He's happiest when he's close to his people, whether joining for a car ride, lounging by the window, or snuggling in during quiet evenings. Benson knows an impressive list of commands and loves to learn and connect! His favorite pastimes include chasing sturdy balls, enrichment games, swimming, and relaxing with a good chew. Benson is sensitive to sudden movements or sounds and may take a moment to warm up, but once he connects, he is deeply devoted, incredibly loving, and attentive with impeccable house manners. This intuitive boy is deeply in tune with emotions and forms strong bonds, offering comfort by gently leaning in or curling up beside you when you need it most.
Ideal Home
Benson would thrive in a calm, structured environment with a securely fenced yard that is at least six feet tall, as he has been known to jump fences. He needs a home where he can feel safe, supported, and understood. Benson is not compatible with cats and needs an adult-only home. He would do best as the only dog in the home, or with a caregiver who can provide very structured, gradual introductions supported by positive reinforcement training, as he can be selective with and reactive towards unfamiliar dogs.
