Hello, my name is Ducky! I'm a 9-month-old, 45-pound sweetheart with adorable wrinkles, and I'm searching for my forever family. I can be a little timid and unsure at first, but once I feel safe and trust you, I become incredibly affectionate. I love to be close to my people, often resting a paw on them or snuggling up across their lap. I also enjoy giving lots of kisses – I think everyone deserves a clean neck!
Jolly balls and tennis balls are my favorites; they really bring out my playful side. I'm a smart cookie too, already knowing "sit," "down," and "drop it." I'm very food-motivated, which makes training and building trust a breeze.
Ideal Home
My ideal home would have a leader who understands how to support an underconfident dog. I can be a bit startled by new people or opening doors, so I'll need guidance on how to react in those situations. Patience and time to help me build confidence are essential. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs, and having a friendly canine companion in the home would be a huge asset in helping me feel brave. I would do best in a home with children aged 13 and older.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in Ducky's listing.
Training & Support
I'm a bit timid and unsure at first, and can be scared when doors open or new people approach. I'll need an adopter who can provide leadership and guidance to help me learn appropriate responses. My food motivation makes me a great candidate for training, and a leader I can rely on will help me succeed.
