Meet Opal. This stunning two-year-old redbone mix weighs about fifty-five pounds and has the kind of beauty that makes people stop in their tracks. With her soft russet-colored coat, long elegant ears, and soulful expression, she is absolutely striking. But it is her sweet and thoughtful personality that truly makes her shine. Opal is friendly with people and enjoys the company of other dogs. She especially gains confidence from having a canine companion nearby and prefers walking with a dog friend when out exploring. She has visited the dog park during quieter times and, once she had a chance to warm up, happily joined in running and playful interactions with the other dogs.
She has a lovely balance of energy and calm. Opal enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, and room to run, but once she has had activity, she settles beautifully at home. She is happy to relax on comfy furniture and sleeps quietly in her crate for seven to eight hours each night. She also appears to be house trained.
Ideal Home
Opal would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and would benefit from a canine companion if possible. She would do best with a family who enjoys walks, outdoor time, and giving her gentle guidance as she continues blossoming.
Ongoing Health
Opal is in good health and has no known conditions.
Training & Support
Opal walks well on leash and loves getting out and about, though she can be timid with unfamiliar or loud things. Trash trucks and school buses can startle her, and she appreciates patient reassurance when navigating new experiences. She does appear to have some prey drive while walking, but she responds well to redirection. She loves treats and chew bones and is eager to learn with consistency and encouragement. Opal is the kind of dog who will continue growing in confidence as she feels safe and connected to her people.
