Smokey is a 2-year-old, 60-pound male Cane Corso and Weimaraner mix who came to us as a stray. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and ready to find his forever family! Smokey is a super sweet boy that just wants love and attention! He's very smart and a quick learner, and has a kind heart and affectionate nature. Smokey is a total couch potato who's more than happy to hang out and relax with you all day, providing gentle companionship. He is submissive and doesn't have a mean bone in his body, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a laid-back, easygoing dog.
Ideal Home
Smokey would prefer a home without cats. He would thrive in a low-traffic home due to his shyness with new people. He would also do really well in a home with a doggie companion as he loves playing with other dogs and enjoys a good game of chase with his canine friends. Smokey would LOVE a home with someone who works from home or is only away from the home for a few hours a day.

Training & Support
Smokey is fully potty trained and is sure to only do his business outside. He walks great on a leash and is easily redirected if he gets nervous or excited. Smokey does have some separation anxiety and will cry for a bit when you leave, but he doesn't tear anything up and does stop crying. For this reason, he is best suited for someone with a house and not an apartment. Smokey is not a huge fan of the crate and prefers not to be shut in it, though he will go into it to rest.

Transporation
Smokey is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up.
