Meet Taquita! She's a delightful puppy from the "Fiesta Siesta" litter, who, along with her siblings Chalupa and Fajita, made a big journey to us from South Carolina. They arrived needing a little extra TLC due to a skin condition called Demodex. The good news? They've been receiving treatment and are doing absolutely amazing! Demodex is a very treatable and manageable condition caused by microscopic mites that are naturally found on dogs. Puppies with developing immune systems can sometimes struggle to keep these mites in check, leading to temporary hair loss, dry skin, and irritation. But rest assured, these pups are responding wonderfully to their treatment and are well on their way to a full, healthy coat.
Now that they're safe and sound in foster care, Taquita and her siblings are busy with all the important things in a puppy's life: enjoying snacks, taking naps, engaging in playful wrestling matches (they're like tiny caffeinated gremlins!), and generally bringing a dose of puppy chaos wherever they go. This is all very typical and charming pit bull mix behavior!
Ideal Home
Taquita and her siblings are looking for loving forever homes ready to embrace the joys and occasional "why are you chewing THAT?" moments that come with puppyhood. They are social, happy puppies who adore people and also do well with other dogs. With slow and proper introductions, they would likely do well with cats too.
Ongoing Health
Taquita and her siblings were treated for Demodex, a non-contagious skin condition. They are responding wonderfully to treatment and are expected to make a full recovery.
Training & Support
These puppies are actively working on their potty training and crate training while in foster care. They are energetic and playful pups, and their new families should be prepared for typical puppy behaviors.
