Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10lb poodle girl who is as playful and spunky as they come! While the shelter listed her as 10 years old, our private vet believes she could be as young as 7, and she certainly acts like a lively, playful gal. Norma lives for the ball! Her ideal day would consist of chasing a ball non-stop, with short breaks for naps. An adopter who wants to play fetch with her at least four times a day is required, as ball is life for this little girl. Norma is wonderful with people, especially young children who are respectful around dogs. She lives with a 4-year-old human child and is all eyes for him, following him around the house and playing ball together. She is very sweet to other people, but she is not a cuddler; she wants to play or be independent. If you're looking for a dog that will want to cuddle with you, Norma is not your girl. But if you're looking for an awesome sidekick who is game for anything, then Norma is just what you're looking for. She has a medium energy level – she isn't looking for super long walks but would enjoy going along for a ride, whether in your arms or a stroller. Once inside with a ball and the air conditioning, it's game on! Norma has not exhibited any separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to roam freely. The only issue is that she is not 100% potty trained. If a back door is left open, she will go outside. However, if you're not watching her and the door is closed, she might have an accident inside. She hasn't yet mastered signaling to her humans that she needs to potty. She does just fine in an extra-large crate, her palace, and never has accidents in it, making it a great option when her human isn't home. She is great in the car and loves looking out the window. Norma lives with three other large dogs and coexists perfectly with them, acting as if they are not there. She would be fine living with another dog but does not like super-energetic dogs that get in her space. Another laid-back dog would be great, but she would also be perfectly content as a solo dog! Overall, Norma is a wonderful, lively little pup looking for her best friend to do life with.
Ideal Home
Norma Jeane needs an adopter who will commit to playing fetch with her at least four times a day. She adores young, respectful children and would do well with another laid-back dog or as a solo pet. She is not a cuddler and prefers active play or independent time.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane has successfully completed heartworm treatment. She was not spayed prior to her treatment due to priority, but arrangements will be made for her spay procedure before she leaves the rescue.
Training & Support
Norma Jeane is not 100% potty trained and may have accidents inside if not closely supervised. She does use her crate reliably when left alone.
