Camila and Regina

Meet Camila and Regina, a bonded pair of delightful Shih Tzu sisters looking for their forever home together! Camila is a charming 1-year-old, weighing about 8.6 lbs, with a beautiful white coat accented by dark brown markings. Regina, at 10 months old and around 8.2 lbs, shares a similar striking white coat with lighter brown markings. These two are incredibly sweet, affectionate, and social butterflies who thrive on human interaction. They love a good cuddle and are happiest when showered with love and attention. They walk well on a leash, are comfortable with crates, and travel like seasoned pros. Plus, they get along famously with other dogs, men, women, and new people.

Camila and Regina were found wandering together in Saltillo, Mexico. After it became clear they were strays without an owner, they were safely rescued, received a thorough veterinary evaluation, and have been lovingly cared for at our shelter, eagerly awaiting their chance at a happy life. They've faced a lot together and deserve a home filled with love, comfort, and security.

Ideal Home

This pair would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard, ideally with a family that enjoys outdoor activities. They are looking for adopters with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs and behaviors of street animals, recognizing their need for protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly preferred, or a commitment to hiring a trainer is essential. A high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are a must.

Ongoing Health

Camila and Regina have received extensive medical care, including spay/neuter surgery, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and are on monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. They also have a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period. Camila and Regina are not house-trained, and patience and understanding will be crucial as they learn and build trust in their new environment. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help them feel secure.

• Applications begin by contacting us through Wags.
• You will be asked to fill out an adoption form.
• Photos and videos of your home are required to ensure a safe environment for your future furry friend.
• If you are a match, we will schedule a call or video chat to introduce you to the pet and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• Upon approval, you will sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which covers vet care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.

Transportation

Camila and Regina are currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. We organize transport 3-4 times a year for our cross-country trips. A contracted transport company will bring them to your door, with comprehensive paperwork including a transport contract, USDA health certificate, and health protocol certificates. For US adoptions, transport will be to Texas. For Canadian adoptions, they will be delivered to the nearest US-Canada border. A real-time update group will be created on Facebook Messenger for adopters. The transport fee is $400 USD and includes door-to-door delivery.
