Meet Shep, a dog with a heart of gold!

Shep was found abandoned in the Flamingos area of Bucerias. He's the kind of dog who immediately feels familiar, calm, gentle, and so grateful to be near people. He clearly once had a home; he knows basic commands, offers his paw for affection, and moves through the world with a quiet confidence. He thrives on three legs and gets around beautifully!

Ongoing Health

Shep came to us with a back leg injury, but our vet confirmed he is perfectly capable and pain-free just as he is. He is ready for a soft place to land.

Training & Support

Shep knows basic commands and loves giving his paw. He is great with other dogs.

Transporation

Our rescue is located near Bucerias, Mexico. We adopt the majority of our dogs to the US and Canada. Approved adopters will meet their new pup at the airport to welcome them home. During the summer months, it can be challenging to secure Canadian flight companions, so dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border if a Canadian flight companion is unavailable. We have successfully completed many adoptions over the summer with volunteers helping to bring dogs to their adopters at the border.
